KYOCERA MFWN-Mini – Smart machining with the clamp once, machine complete approach
The new KYOCERA Cutting Tools MFWN Mini brings outstanding performance and durability in a smaller, more cost-effective size. Fine pitch and smaller cutter diameters bring higher productivity and lower costs in tooling up the cutter with increased feed rates and the new WNMU05 size insert. The inserts design is based on the extremely popular WNMU08 size insert which has a thick insert design to offer fracture resistance but with a positive cutting action to offer low cutting forces. The greater versatility of the MFWN-Mini range links well with the established “Mini” range, namely the KYOCERA MEW 90° with the LOMU10 4-corner double-sided insert and the MFH-Mini high feed range with the LOGU03 4-corner double-sided insert.
WNMU05 inserts are available in 3 chipbreakers – GM (General), SM (Low Cutting Force) and GH (Tough Edge) and 4 grades PR1510 (K Materials), PR1525 (P Materials), PR1535 (M Materials) and PR015S (H Materials).
MFWN-Mini Features
The new WNMU05 inserts offer up to 5mm depth of cut and have a true 90° shoulder with the dynamic slope edge to reduce chatter and attain the best surface finishes. Face mills now start from 50mm and are available in fine pitch for higher productivity gains. Perfect for lower power machines where 90° milling is required or very good surface finishes are required and solid carbide solutions are not applicable, also offering great cost per edge with the 6-corner insert design.
